Audi will compete in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.
The new team has three locations. The Audi Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg, Germany, is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 Factory in Hinwil, Switzerland, is known for its innovative technologies and its passion for racing. The Sauber Motorsport Technology Center in the United Kingdom will be operational this year. Our power unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for chassis development and race operations.

This position for the Audi F1 Project is available at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg, Germany.
In the area of electric motor development (MGU-K), you will work on the key component of high-performance electric drives and contribute to competitiveness in the highly competitive F1 environment.
Through testing at the component and system level, you will ensure the validation and continuous development of our electric drive components in the Audi F1 Project. You will also be involved in test and race operations within Mission Control.
Your tasks
Testing of electric motor units (MGU-Ks) from early prototype to finished racing system
Planning and execution of test scopes with a focus on the electric motor unit (MGU-K) at the component level, at the high-voltage system level (ERS) and in the drive system with combustion engine (Power Unit)
Support of the electric drive components at the HV system level (ERS) during test and racing operations in Mission Control
Evaluation of test scope including documentation and presentation of results
Incorporating test results into the design, development and quality processes to optimize and further develop the electric machine.
Application of electric drives in collaboration with software development
Your profile
Technical studies in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable course of study
Several years of professional experience in high-level motorsport in the field of electric drive components
Flexibility, passion and a high willingness to work in Mission Control (especially on weekends with increased workload)
Experience in handling test benches for drive components
Good knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g. ATLAS)
Basic knowledge of how to use application tools (e.g., System Monitor)
Experience in handling high voltage, ideally training as an electrical specialist (EFK)
Strong implementation skills as well as a high level of motivation and initiative
Goal-oriented, independent and structured work style
Strong teamwork skills
Decision-making and conflict resolution skills
Fluent German or English skills and a willingness to learn basic knowledge of the other language are prerequisites.
